Smeal Statement: Net Impact Leaves Penn State in the Dark
Tuesday, April 1, 2014
Net Impact was featured on the Smeal Statement website for the FNLO (Friday Night Lights Out) Event that focuses on turning off classroom lights on campus on Friday nights. The idea behind the FNLO is to conserve energy throughout campus to reduce our dependence on energy and simultaneously provide cost savings to the university as a whole. It turns out most lights stay on throughout the weekends regardless of whether individuals are using the rooms. As such, we want to make a positive impact.
The FNLO event is held by the Council of Lion Hearts. Net Impact has participated in this event both in Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Together, we turned off a total of more than 2,000 lights on campus.
